Impossible?

Refuge Radio’s Spring Pledge Drive

April is Refuge Radio’s Spring Fund Raising Month. Our on-air pledge drive starts April 20th and goes through the 24th. During these 5 special days we will be sharing stories of what God has been doing through Refuge Radio this last year, and how we will be looking toward the future. Listen-in because we also have some very special guests joining us in the Studio! Our goal is to raise $60,000. Currently half of our annual operating expense is met by monthly support partners. In order to raise the other half we come to you twice a year with our on-air pledge drives. This month we are asking you to help us raise at least $60,000 in pledges to carry Refuge Radio through to October. But wait, there’s more... More Love—More Power Did you know that for more than 30 years Refuge Radio has been in Duluth? Sadly, it has also been one of the weakest FM stations in the area. With a power upgrade our signal could become 20 times stronger than it is right now! We’re asking our Twin Ports friends to help us become as strong as every other station out there so that the Hope of Christ can be heard strong and clear throughout the Northland. Once we have reached our operational Goal of $60,000 we will start our upgrade campaign for a new Duluth transmitter. The new transmitter will cost $70,000 with installation.

Did you also know…

Refuge Radio is the only locally owned Christian radio station in the Northland, so the Ministry money you invest in Refuge Radio, stays right here in the Northland. Refuge Radio is not part of another organization, like a college or other radio conglomerate. We are a Duluth NonProfit Company with our corporate office and studios right here, in Duluth. We also have translator stations, also known as “repeaters”, throughout Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota. Our reach goes far beyond the Refuge Radio’s Pledge Drive Call Center Twin ports area.

Possible!

Refuge Radio’s Duluth Transmitter Upgrade

Refuge Radio is planning a transmitter upgrade in Duluth. Our Duluth transmitter is old and not very healthy. We have been doing the best we can to keep it going, but like an old car, there comes a time when you just have to replace it. A few years ago we saw an opportunity to make Refuge Radio’s signal stronger than ever in the Duluth area, but at the time it seemed impossible. We had a lot of other areas that needed attention first. We did, however, apply for a construction permit for this huge power increase, and it was granted! So maybe it's not impossible with God, after all! A year ago we moved our Duluth facility to another radio tower in preparation for this, and now, if we can raise the funding to pay for the new transmitter, we will be able to increase our power by 20 times what it is currently at! This is as much a matter of God’s timing and trusting Him in prayer as anything else. We wanted to share this exciting plan with you and ask you to pray with us for the Impossible!
